Frequently Asked Questions
What are the minimum requirements to start driving lessons?
You must be at least 17 years of age before you can enrol on your driving course. You will also need a provisional driving licence.
Are you an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor)?
I am ADI approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). My badge is displayed on the windscreen as proof that I’m a fully qualified driving instructor.
What is a 1-2-1 session?
This means we won’t be carrying other passengers, and your lesson is catering to only your needs.
How do I book my theory test?
To book your theory test head over to the Gov.UK website and apply online. You will need your provisional licence.
How do I study for the theory test?
I recommend reading the Highway Code at least once to understand the rules. DVSA has produced a theory test handbook which is tailored to the 50 multiple choice questions. There is a range of computer and mobile apps to test your knowledge. Put in the hours and make the most of these accessories.
How can I apply for a provisional driving licence?
To get your provisional licence you can apply at the GOV.UK website or complete a D1 form at the post office and send it to the DVLA with your proof of identity and a passport-sized photo.
What can I expect from you as an instructor?
You will have a lesson with proper instructions, well-thought techniques which you will use for years after passing. Nervous beginners are well looked after, I will teach you how to gain full control of the car to help you pass your driving test with ease. At the end of each lesson, I will give you feedback on your strengths and areas to concentrate on.
Do you teach manual or automatic?
Automatic at the moment.
How long is the theory test valid?
It is valid for two years. If you do not pass your practical test within this period, you will need to re-take the theory test.
